No Book Unread Project Update #3 - I'm Not Being Lazy This Time, We Had a Baby!

Hey everyone, today's update will be a relatively short one. I was hoping to have an update post in sooner than now but I had a very busy week last week. And for good reason: My wife and I had a baby!

Baby Warren was born on Monday the 6th just after midnight. He's also our first kid so needless to say there has been a bit of a learning curve. Despite all the warnings about getting no sleep only my first night was really tough. However, there isn't a lot of time for other stuff when you're learning what kind of schedule the baby is on, determining when to sleep, and trying to figure out what the baby could possibly be fussing over. Luckily, a little over a week later I'm starting to get the hang of it and fall into a rhythm. Of course, my time is now spent catching up on things that I wasn't doing before, mostly chores in this case like laundry and mowing the lawn. On the up-side, I'm now caught up enough that I can finally start thinking about doing some blog posts again!

So what does this mean for No Book Unread? Well, updates will probably continue to be sporadic as always, but other than that I'm not really sure yet. I'm still reading, for sure; I got halfway through Dragonwing by Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman before I even left the hospital last week. Not to mention I actually have two books that I have yet to review that I ended up reading during my 6 month hiatus. If nothing else this could mean that I may feel obligated to review some children's books in the future. Oh, also I may have to learn to type with one hand at some point if I want to get any writing done.

With any luck I'm hoping to continue writing and reviewing as I have the time. Once I am more accustomed to life with a baby, and I'm already pretty well adjusted so far, I think I'll be in a better position to write regularly than ever. In fact, despite all the recent chaos, I'm even hoping to have another review up by the end of the week. Hey, maybe when Warren is older he can even help me with some of my reviews.

    1. Thanks! I think I'm finally getting used to his sleep schedule, but then again I go back to work today so that throws a wrench in things. Never a dull moment!

  2. Congratulations on your new addition. To find reading time could you read to the baby while you rock him? Leaving the unsuitable parts out I imagine. Cute baby!

    1. I'm really looking forward to being able to read to him and see him react. I read a little bit of a fantasy book I'm currently on but I think he's still a bit too young to register it yet. Sometimes I voice the characters in the games I play too. Thanks for commenting!
